Pre-war money in Fallout 4 is, for all intents and purposes, useless. It’s basically a collectors item. It’s about as useful as having a huge stash of pogs in today’s day and age. The survivors inhabiting the Wasteland have given up on paper, pre-war money in Fallout 4 and previous entries in the series, instead adopting bottle caps as their preferred form of currency. (Click here to find out how you can access the unlimited bottle cap exploit.)
Bottle caps are the preferred form of currency in Fallout because the technology because the technology to manufacture them and paint their surfaces had been mostly lost in the Great War, which limited any counterfeiting efforts. Secondly, there are a limited number of bottle caps, which preserve their value against inflation to some degree.
But still, there’s a ton of pre-war money in Fallout 4 that’s just lying around. It can be sold, it can broken down into scrap to produce one cloth or help craft mattresses or it can be used in the Junk Jet as ammunition, but where’s the fun in any of that?
There’s only one thing you should do with pre-war money in Fallout 4 and that is MAKE IT RAIN. Watch the clip below for inspirational purposes.
If there’s a better use for pre-war money in Fallout 4 than piling it all somewhere and then blowing it up to make it rain, we don’t want to hear about it. The Junk Jet doesn’t need ammunition! Selling it at Hubs makes no goddamn sense! The people of the wasteland don’t need cloth or mattresses! There is only making it rain.
