Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will release on October 27th 2017, confirming another rumour that arose from Bethesda’s carnival invite.
The publisher of Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood previously released a leaflet-like invite to a festival, showing all of their main titles except for two under construction. One was confirmed as The Evil Within 2, and the other now proven to be the follow up to the critically acclaimed first-person shooter. You can watch the lengthy trailer below.
Set in an alternate reality in which the Nazis won World War 2, the story again follows hero soldier B. J. Blazkowicz in his mission to defeat the enemy.
The story takes place in 1961, and the American Resistance is still fighting hard against the Nazis. Blazkowicz wakes up on a hospital bed in a poor state after the failed assassination attempt on him, but soon finds himself ready to fight in his home country.
This time, though, his arsenal is more high-tech than ever, including the Laserkraftwerk that pulverises enemy Nazis, and Dieselkraftwerk to blast gas-powered grenades at multiple enemies. He’ll need as much power as he can get to fight the fire-breathing cyborgs.
It looks as though Wolfenstein 2 will be unashamedly about killing hundreds of Nazis, but that’s what made The New Order so great in the first place.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
