Anima: Gate of Memories Beyond Fantasy Edition Launches in NA Today

It’s released exclusively for the PlayStation 4

Physical copies of Anima: Gate of Memories Beyond Fantasy Edition will launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 in North America today, Mar. 22.

Released last year digitally across multiple platforms, Anima: Gate of Memories is third-person action RPG with an anime art-style. It’s the first in the series to be published by Badland games, with Anima Project the developers.

As an RPG, the game centres on character progression and exploration. It’s set in the fantasy world of Gaia, and its deep narrative often branches off into side-quests and sub-stories. Players take up the role of The Bearer, interchanging with her playable male counterpart Ergo also. With similar gameplay, mechanics, and a female lead, it’s no surprise that it’s often drawn parallels with Nier.

Newcomers shouldn’t expect a Nier copy, however. Anima is unique in its extensive combat mechanics, stunning locations, huge battles with bosses to overcome, as well as different achievable endings depending on how you’ve played the game.

Included within the Beyond Fantasy Edition are:

  • A physical copy of Anima: Gate of Memories
  • A collector’s box
  • 52 page hardcover art book in colour
  • The 25 track original soundtrack with a jewel case
  • The Tarot card deck
  • A framed art print

Priced at $49.99, the game will be available at all major retailers, including the NIS America Online Store, Amazon, and GameStop.
