New footage from Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has been released on the official Crash Bandicoot YouTube channel, this time showing the PlayStation 1 frontman running from a polar bear in Un-Bearable.
The level is taken from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and the original level on the PlayStation is shown next to its polished counterpart for effect.
You can see that the layout both levels are identical, but the remake’s updated visuals are obvious. Developers Vicarious Visions are using the same level geometry as the originals, but the game itself is being built from the bottom up. New features such as a modern checkpoint and save system are being included also.
This is just one of the many times we’ve had a glimpse of Crash in his remastered form. Another side-by-side video showing the level Cortex Power from the first game, and even more recently Sewer or Later from Cortex Strikes Back. You can watch both videos below.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will feature remastered versions of the original three games: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped. It’s currently only available to pre-order on PlayStation 4, however all Crash games since the PlayStation 1 era have been cross-platform, so it remains to be seen whether or not it’s a Sony exclusive. The game launches on June 30th.
