Everyone’s Favorite Childhood Game Is Now a Video Game

If there’s one game every kid has played at some point in their life it’s hot lava, wherein players must jump around on furniture to avoid touching the floor because it has been turned into hot lava through the power of imagination!

Don’t Starve developer Klei Entertainment clearly feels that imagination can only do so much, as they’re bringing us Hot Lava, a brand new video game that brings the childhood fun to the digital realm.

Though it’s inspiration draws from knocking over lamps and possibly getting grounded, this video game adaptation raises the stakes to a full on first person parkour game where players will need to pull off all manner of tricks to avoid falling into the molten hot magma.

As the game’s Steam page says:

“Hot Lava transports you back to your childhood imagination. Relive those moments of excitement, joy, and chaos. Traverse distinct worlds, from school hallways to the memories of your darkest fears. This is a game of dexterity and ingenuity, you will have to use all your skills to complete the treacherous obstacles that await. But whatever you do…don’t touch the floor.”

No word on a release date yet, but anyone who happens to be interested (and you should be) can sign up for the beta right here.
