Is it possible that Final Fantasy 15 will be available on mobile devices? Given that almost all the Final Fantasy games are getting remade for mobile, it’s not outrageous to assume that there will be at least a mobile companion to Final Fantasy 15, if not the entire game.
Of course, this is just simply speculation, right? Not exactly. An artist has listed Final Fantasy 15 mobile on his online resume, working for Chinese game developer ChangYou.
The artist indicated on his resume, which you can see here, that he worked as a background specialist on this project April to May 2015. He also says this was on a prototype or a project in alhpa.
ChangYou is a Chinese online game developer, which does both licensed and original games. Their biggest original project is Tian Long Ba Bu, a 3D martial arts RPG. Their most famous project in the West up until now is Warframe.
The Final Fantasy 15 team has been vocal about their outsourcing of certain development work to other studios. Last February, they revealed Taiwanese game company XPEC was helping them with the environments. Would they be so bold to outsource a mobile port of the game to a Chinese developer? Maybe.
In a recent interview with Hajime Tabata, the game’s director spoke about why they are/were working with these game studios in other Asian regions. Companies like Square Enix have tons of experience making games, Tabata values the multi-cultural perspectives and flexibility of companies in these regions. Because of this, Asian game companies work on games that include Final Fantasy XV, Call of Duty, and Uncharted. Tabata says this kind of experience and flexibility is an asset.
Square Enix makes their own mobile games, for the Japanese market. If there really is a Final Fantasy XV Mobile in development, however, it seems possible they tapped Asian game companies like ChangYou to help make it for them, due to their experience with multiplayer games.
Then again, all we have to on for Final Fantasy 15 mobile’s existence is what someone wrote on their resume, which is usually full of lies and embellishments…so…who knows?
