EA previously confirmed that more emphasis would be put on a campaign, and the trailer seems hint at a new female protagonist, and an “untold soldier’s story”. There will of course undoubtedly be multiplayer, which the first game relied on too heavily, but the inclusion of space battle clips mean those wanting to ride around in an X-Wing can still have hope.
Most interestingly, the clip features characters from the prequels, most notably Darth Maul, and the latest sequels, with Rey and Kylo Ren finishing off the cover art. If your eyes are alert enough you can even see Yoda and Hoth, meaning the game can potentially cover every film thus far.

This would be the only way to explain the timeline jumps that Battlefront 2 will have, as there aren’t any characters who could span across all seven films.
All of this is purely speculation, as there’s very little you can gather from such a fast-paced trailer. Hopefully Battlefront 2 can win back some of the fans that the initial game lost.
