The Future Looks Bright for Battlefield 1

Including monthly updates, platoons, and future DLC

EA have given a run down as to what to expect from Battlefield 1 in the future, and it’s looking exciting. After “extremely positive feedback on Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass”, the company shows their appreciation by announcing its commitment to the game and its updates, with several key changes coming soon.

Previous Battlefield titles were updated seasonally, but EA have now announced that Battlefield 1 will be patched monthly. Using the Community Test Environment, it will look at constant player feedback to improve the service, bringing “more of what [players] want, faster than ever”. DICE seem to be putting their full commitment into the game, which is impressive considering Battlefront 2 is in the works also.

The Spring update will introduce Platoons, and with it the ability to organise teams with friends in battles. Those wanting to forge squads will have the benefit of team strategy, making victories quicker and easier. Next month’s update will improve in-game quality, as well as the speed at which you make it into games, specifically in Operations.

With three new expansions – In the Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalype – EA say there are more weapons, maps, vehicles, and game modes to look forward to. The former takes place on the Eastern Front, with players having to contend with Russian Winters.

It’s an exciting time for Battlefield 1 owners. What do you think of EA’s future plans for the game? Let us know in the comments section below.
