When Bethesda released the official Fallout 4 trailer on June 3, 2015, every gamer in the world freaked out. Rightfully so because the highly anticipated follow-up to instant-classic Fallout 3 is sure to be the only game anyone talks about for a full-calendar year.
And while we still have to wait until November 10th, 2015 before we can explore the desolate New England landscape, Fallout 4 developer Bethesda was kind enough to publish a new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. “educational” videos weekly to satiate/exasperate our hunger for more Fallout. Last week’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. video focused on Strength and next week’s will highlight Endurance. But today, we learn how players can utilize “Perception” to their advantage in a post-nuclear world.
Check out what’s new about Fallout 4’s Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (or VATS for Fallout veterans) in this highly education film embedded below.
Well that was hilarious.
The VATS system for combat appears to be practically unchanged from Fallout 3 but expanding it to keep you safe in “morally ambiguous” moments, i.e. when pickpocketing and looting, is a huge improvement. Something tells us that with the VATS system integrated into looting and pickpocketing, the GameAddik staff is going to have a very hard time keeping good karma. Especially if you can slip live grenades into the pockets of unsuspecting enemies/bystanders as advertised in the video above.
Can’t wait to see what they’ve animated for endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility and luck!
Fallout 4’s release date is set for Novermber 10th across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
