For all the good gameplay in the original Mirror’s Edge, character development was somewhat lacking in my honest opinion. Not that the lack of character development hindered the game, it was only recently that I realized I knew almost nothing about the game’s heroine because I was too entranced by the fast-paced parkour action. If you felt the same way, you’ll be happy to know that the sequel–Mirror’s Edge Catalyst–will delve deeper into Faith’s origins. At least, according to the latest trailer.
Take a look at how Faith ended where she is, plus get a good long look the unsettlingly crips and clean City of Glass in the new story trailer below.
In addition to the new Mirror’s Edge Catalyst trailer, EA has announced that there will be a closed beta for the game. Currently there are no details beyond platforms. The beta will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, just like the completed game. We don’t know when the beta will take place yet, how long it will last or what parts of the game we’ll be playing, but since the May 24th release date is quickly approaching, we imagine it will be soon.
You can sign up for a chance to be part of the beta here.
