Horror-survival-shooting game One Life recently joined the roster of games looking to make it big on Steam Greenlight and its concept will no doubt be one of the most polarizing ideas in video game history: die once and you are done. Yes, new shooting game One Life is aptly named because players literally only have one life.
What happens if a player loses their one life in One Life? Players will locked out of their Steam account. The “play” button will go grey and players will only be able to stare longingly at the history of their character. But that’s only if the opponent chooses to finish off the player. It’s possible players will be held captive and humiliated before they bite the bullet for good.
The new shooting game’s description reads: “One Life is the first multiplayer survival game with perma-permadeath. If you die, you will leave the game forever. Will you manage to survive in this harsh world full of dangers? Upgrade your battle truck and set off for hot spots with friends. Play with your own rules but remember: your every move can be the last one.”

While the knowledge of only having one life that can lock players out of their Steam account should they lose it might turn players off One Life, the appeal of being able to literally piss on opponents will probably prove too much to resist.
