There’s been a lot of talk about Overwatch, Blizzard’s upcoming MOBA-shooter. Truth be told, the game looks great but a lot of the discussion around Overwatch has been Blizzard’s plan to monetize it. Initially, the game was rumoured to be free-to-play, but recent reports have confirmed that it will be subscription-based. Which then led to the question: “What about Overwatch DLC? Will we have to pay for that separately as well?”
Today, Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan confirmed any Overwatch DLC will be free. Any new heroes and maps will be patched into the game for free.
For more information about Overwatch’s progress, watch the new Developer Update below wherein Jeff Kaplan assures all fans anxious to try this game that paid Overwatch DLC isn’t something we need to worry about.
The game launches on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One next spring. The beta is currently off for the holidays, but click here for details on when it is set to resume.
