Overwatch is Blizzard’s upcoming multiplayer shooter and it’s gotten a lot of attention early on because of a butt pose protested by sensitive gamers and then the ensuing backlash for replacing it with an even more sensual pose.
Now, it seems people have enjoyed playing Overwatch’s open beta so much that they have taken to the internet to see some “real action” involving the game’s female characters.
PornHub released some rather interesting data about the game. On Thursday, search terms related to the game jumped an incredible 817%. Thursday was the same day Overwatch’s open beta launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Yes, the same day the open beta started, players seemingly instantly paused the game to search for sexually explicit content involving the game’s characters. It may be a little gross to think that most of the people playing Overwatch had an uncontrollable urge to fap, but it’s a real credit to whoever designed the game’s characters.
Overwatch seems to be getting an audience that isn’t restricted to any country or continent. The search terms have come from all across the globe. People in Asia, Europe and South America have all indulged in some Overwatch porn searching.
Blizzard must be having a giggle and high-fives must be a common phenomenon in the development office right now. Having people wanting to do unmentionable things to the characters of its upcoming game can only be a sign of good things to come (pun intended).
