It will follow in its predecessors’ footsteps in featuring hack and slash combat, as well as open-world environments and puzzle solving. This time around you play as new character, the female Fury, another of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Taking control of perhaps the most interesting character the series has thrown up so far, players need to defeat physical versions of the Seven Deadly Sins using unique weapons and abilities. Expect blood and gore, and lots of it.
The game is being developed by Gunfire Games, a studio consisting mainly of ex-Vigil Games employees, developers of Darksiders 1 and 2. The company went bust when THQ did, before Nordic (now THQ Nordic) picked up the pieces and subsequently released remasters of both games.
Darksiders 3 is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and is due to release some time in 2018.
