The weekend-long free trial for Ubisoft’s For Honor begins today, October 10th, and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC players.
The hack and slash fighting game has faced mixed responses during its seven month lifetime, and this free trial is no doubt Ubisoft’s way of getting new players on board. Pitting players against each other as different historical warriors including Samurais and Vikings, For Honor relies on its servers being busy in order to function. The fewer the players, the more obsolete the game becomes.
The whole game will be available to players during the trial, which lasts up until 12.01am PT on the 14th August for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners, and 1pm PT on the 13th August for PC owners. This includes the main campaign, five multiplayer modes, and every playable hero. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will need to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold respectively in order to play the game.
All saved data will carry on if you decide to purchase For Honor after the trial, in which case it will be half price until the 20th August.
Season 3 of the game, “Grudge and Glory”, begins right after the trial ends, on 15th August. It will introduce new content, new maps, and gladiators and highlanders as new playable heroes.
