Shadow of the Colossus is Being Remade for PS4

One of the greats gets better.

Shadow of the Colossus, one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, is being remastered for the PlayStation 4.

Originally a PlayStation 2 title, it has already been remastered for the PlayStation 3 alongside its spiritual predecessor Ico in the HD Collection. This could potentially be much more though, as it looks be built from the bottom up rather than just touched up. You can see the trailer below.

The game is regularly used in the argument for video games as an art form, and auteur director Fumito Ueda, creator of The Last Guardian, is often seen as a visionary in the industry.

Shadow of the Colossus involves players taking on 16 huge colossi in order to save a girl’s life, solving the puzzles of to how to scale them and reach their weak points. For every giant you destroy you lose a piece of yourself, until you ultimately question the motives behind your actions. It asks you to think as much as it does to play.

There’s no release date as of yet.
