See The Shaun of the Dead Easter Egg in The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Division pays tribute to one of the best moments in the Cornetto Trilogy with Shaun of the Dead easter egg.

For all the doom and gloom that is front and center in the soon-to-be-released Tom Clancy game The Division, there is still a sense of humor in the game. Aside from inexplicably including a dog’s fully-functioning colon, there is also a perfectly placed Shaun of the Dead easter egg that should tickle fans of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy.

The easter egg, spotted by The Game Brains while playing The Division‘s Xbox One beta, is linked specifically the jumping fence scene that can be found in Shaun of the Dead, and to a lesser extent Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.

Here’s the easter egg:

The text on the orange blob falling on the fence reads:

  • Shaun PackHan
  • Current Status: Unknown
  • Occupation: Professional Slacker
  • Details: Failed high school physical education class

Who else could that be other than Shaun from 2004’s Shaun of the Dead. The only question is…what brought him to New York City from post-zombie apocalypse London?

In case you are in need of a refresher, watch Shaun/Nicholas Angel attempt a legendary fence jump below.

The Division is currently in beta for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game is scheduled to be released on March 8th, 2016.

Have you spotted any cool easter eggs while playing The Division beta that you think people need to know about it? If so, tell us about them on Twitter or Facebook.
