A warrior traveling across a barren landscape to battle massive, mythological creatures? Sounds like the PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus, no? It sure does but it is not. We are talking about Prey For The Gods.
Watch the trailer for Prey For The Gods below and do whatever you must to ignore the amazing similarities between it and Shadow of the Colossus.
The only way you don’t see the similarities between both games would be because you never played Shadow of the Colossus, which would be a shame if that were the case because it is still one of the most amazing games ever made. I could be wrong, but I feel like it was the video game that finally broke objectors to the “video games are art” debate.
Prey For The Gods‘ description even says “you must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter”, in case you hadn’t picked it up already.
And while we were initially perturbed by the blatant ripoff of a classic, Prey For The Gods is a game we are definitely going to play. It’s been over a decade since Shadow of the Colossus was released, so playing a new game with the same look and feel is very much welcome. It will be interesting to see what No Matter Studios does differently.
Speaking of No Matter Studios, it is important to note that they are not your average game studio. No Matter Studios is three developers working on this game whenever they have time after their day jobs. That’s really cool. Get this game for that reason alone. Also get it because these three devs resurrected Shadow of the Colossus but for PC and Mac.
