Last week EA dropped the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer, a short but sweet glimpse into the universe which hasn’t stopped expanding since its big bang in 1977. The 2005 Battlefront 2 is the favourite for millions of fans of the series, and 2015’s reboot disappointed with its lack of single player and depth to its online multiplayer. It’s no surprise, then, that people have been picking apart the two minute trailer for as many clues as they can muster. Luckily for those who aren’t so keen eyed, or perhaps don’t have the time to scour every pixel, we’ve got everything you need to know right here based on the trailer, statements from EA, and other news outlets like Eurogamer who have been to see the developers themselves.
1. Release date
The game officially releases on November 17th 2017, although those who pre-order the Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition will have access to the game three days prior.
2. There will be a full campaign
One of the biggest criticisms of DICE’s 2015 Battlefront was that the ‘campaign’ was basically just a few hours’ tutorial to get you prepared for online multiplayer. There was a complete lack of story, and that annoyed a huge fan base who wanted a game in a similar vein to the PlayStation 2 era Battlefront games. This time around the developer will not only focus on the depth of its multiplayer – which was somewhat lacking in the original as well – but a much bigger single player campaign too.
