This Kid Was Able to Stop a Home Invasion Thanks to Call of Duty

What would you do if your home was getting broken into? I know I would hide in the closet until they realize there is nothing with resale value in my home. Cowardly? Yes, perhaps. Thankfully, there appears to be a way to gain the nerves of steel necessary to thwart a home invader: follow this 11-year-old boy’s example and play more Call of Duty.

Talladega, Alabama boy Chris Gaither shot a male intruder who broke into his house on Wednesday April 27th, 2016. “I shot through the hamper he was carrying. It went straight through the back of his leg. He started like a little baby!”

Crying like a little baby or crying like a grown man whose calf had just been eradicated by a copper alloy?

According to the boy, he had honed his marksmanship skills by killing zombies in Call of Duty with his stepdad.

Supposedly, the male suspect attempting the home invasion had stolen a hamper–yes, the thing you put your dirty laundry in/around–and used it to act as a shield while he charged the front door. Once alerted to what was happening, Chris quickly grabbed his parent’s 9MM pistol and went downstairs to investigate. The intruder then threatened Chris while shielding himself with the laundry hamper.

Police are expected to file charges against the suspect after he is treated for his wounds.

Watch Chris Gaither talk about the experience with the local news below.
