There Will Be More Uncharted Games After Lost Legacy

But no Nate.

There’s more to come from the Uncharted series after Lost Legacy, Creative Director Shaun Escayg told Eurogamer in a recent interview.

Lost Legacy is considered by many the first spin-off from the Uncharted series; initially meant to be DLC for owners of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, it soon grew into something much bigger. “It’s a full game. It’s kind of the sum of all Uncharteds. It has fantastic set pieces, we’ve brought back some of the scale, the grandeur you saw in the trailer, giant archeological sites, the sense of wonder and adventure where you’re not sure what’s around the next corner”, Escayg told Eurogamer.

The question has always been, though, where does that put the Uncharted series as a whole, and in particular its protagonist throughout, Nathan Drake? Escayg seemingly put the second part of that question to bed: “We’re over with the Nathan Drake story.”

Yet, interestingly, he refused to rule out future games delving into other characters’ lives, and in fact made light of the fact that developer Naughty Dog had considered a whole game centred around Sully. “Even before we settled on this particular story we were exploring Sullivan, we were exploring Cutter, and pairing each other up, thinking what would be right, what would have conflict, growth, something new, something fresh.” He continued. “And Chloe was the one that kept jumping out.”

As for the question of where Lost Legacy leaves the series: “But to say the Uncharted world is done… I doubt that highly.”

That seems pretty clear.
