Clash of Clans
Title: Clash of Clans
Platform: Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows
Clash of Clans is an online multiplayer game in which players build a community, train troops and attack other players to earn gold and elixirs. Both can be used to build defenses that protect the player from other players’ attacks, freeing players up to train and upgrade their troops.
On top of all the PvP action, the game also features a single player PvE campaign in which the player must attack a series of fortified goblin villages.
PROS AND CONS
- No energy limitationsWhenever we start a F2P game, we always anticipate being forced to stop or fork over some real world cash to continue after about 30 minutes of gameplay. In Clash of Clans, advancement depends on gold and elixir stores amassed through mines placed in the encampments, rewarding effort and dedication rather than forcing gameplay to come to a screeching hault. Even when you run out of gold and elixirs and have to put your development plans on hold; you can always go out and attack NPC goblins and other players.
- Fast-paced battlesMatches are quick and painless, making an idle moment with your iPhone a delight.
- PvEGiving players the option to engage in PvE is a great learning curve for new players to practice and perfect their deployment strategies without the pain of getting constantly crushed by more experienced players.
- Tunnel visionThe most frustrating part of Clash of Clans is the fact you can’t see the entire battlefield until you’ve deployed all your troops, and that you lose all your troops win or lose.
