Every year in gaming is a big one these days, with AAA titles coming out all of the time. However, every now and then a year comes along that looks set to blow the others out of the water. 2018 is just one of those years.
As long-awaited sequels and highly anticipated new IPs come to fruition, 2018 is a great year to own a PlayStation 4. So, let’s take a look at 18 of the most anticipated PS4 games of 2018, shall we?
18. Fear Effect Reinvented
The last time that we got a new Fear Effect game was back in 2001, that being a direct prequel to the original. The games are Survival Horror with a twist, focusing on the strange and the confusing, mixed with punishing action that requires split-second timing.
Dealing with everything from warring Triad family to Hell itself, Fear Effect Reinvented is a complete remake of the original game. The story is deep, and the gameplay rewarding once you master it. If you’re a fan of games that are just downright hard, like Dark Souls or Bloodborne, then this is definitely one you’ll want to check out!
It’s also worth mentioning that a second sequel, Fear Effect Sedna, is also set to be released this year, as a tactical action-adventure game.
17. Left Alive
Square Enix, arguably one of the best RPG developer companies in history, have a long-running series known as Front Mission, which features mecha-based tactical combat and a whole lot of world building and story. However, for 2018 they have decided to take the series in a slightly different direction.
Left Alive, which is set in the world of Front Mission, is first and foremost a shooter. You’ll be on foot in the middle of a war-torn land, fending off soldiers and giant robots with just your wits and whatever weaponry you have.
You can also pretty much guarantee that there’s going to be an incredible storyline to go along with the action. This is Square Enix, after all!
